We are happy to able to announce that we are sponsoring Halmstad University Solar Team (HUST). They are developing and building a solar-powered car that they will compete with in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge – the world’s biggest solar-powered car race.
The race started in 1987 and takes place every other year. In the competition, teams of students from universities all over the world are going to drive 3022 kilometers from the north to the south of Australia – from Darwin to Adelaide.
In the picture above, we see the solar-powered electric car that Halmstad University Solar Team developed and manufactured for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in 2019.
What is Creative Tools contributing with?
We are, among other things, contributing with a MakerBot Replicator+ 3D printer. HUST is 3D printing a lot of prototypes for the solar-powered car with this 3D printer. They also plan to use the 3D printer to produce parts that will be used in the final version of the car, for example, the car’s steering wheel and battery cover.
Contributing to a more sustainable future
Right now, Halmstad University Solar Team is in the middle of the development and production phase of the new solar-powered car that will be used in the next edition of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.
One of the goals of the project is to contribute with innovative solutions and new concepts for the future of electric cars. In Sweden the transport sector emits 30% of our total carbon dioxide emissions. These are numbers that HUST is hoping to reduce through their work. The team at Creative Tools is very excited about this project, and we are all very happy that we are able to sponsor this project that works towards a more sustainable future.
We wish HUST good luck!
Finally, a greeting from the entire team at Creative Tools to Halmstad University Solar Team:
Good luck with the project! We are following the development of the project with excitement.
